The IRS has launched its new online “Get My Payment” tool. You can check on the status of your Economic Impact Payment and add your direct deposit information if the IRS does not have it already. In order to check the payment status and/or to set up direct deposit, you will need information from either your 2019 federal tax return, or from 2018 if you have not yet filed for 2019.
PLEASE NOTE: those who did not file 2018 or 2019 tax returns should instead use the “Non-Filers” tool in order to determine their eligibility for payment.
