Steven Hoggett is an award-winning choreographer and director based in London. He has worked extensively on Broadway, in London’s West End and for some of the most prestigious non-profit theatre companies in the world.
Some of his recent work includes movement direction for the global phenomenon Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Sweeney Todd, Angels in America, The Crucible, The Last Ship, Rocky: The Musical, The Glass Menagerie, Once, Peter and the Starcatcher and American Idiot on Broadway; Nye, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and The Ocean at the End of the Lane for London’s National Theatre; and Black Watch for the National Theatre of Scotland, for which he won the Olivier Award for Best Choreography.
As a Director, he co-created Burn for the National Theatre of Scotland, Edinburgh International Festival and the Joyce Theater with Alan Cumming; Social! The Social Distance Dance Club (Park Ave. Armory) and Close to You: Bacharach Reimagined (New York Theatre Workshop, West End). He was a founding co-artistic director of Frantic Assembly Theatre Company, and with co-founder Scott Graham he wrote The Frantic Assembly Guide to Making Theatre, published by Routledge.
