Digital Stage Production Agreement

DIGITAL STAGE PRODUCTION AGREEMENT

The Digital Stage Production Agreement is applicable to productions directed or choreographed by SDC Members that will be delivered via a virtual platform only, with no live in-person audience.

  • Services under this Agreement can be provided either in-person, remotely, or a combination of the two.
  • This Agreement may NOT be used for theatrical productions performed in front of live audiences, including so-called “hybrid productions.”
  • The Agreement is intended to cover stage directors and choreographers of digital stage productions who are full Members of SDC, and not the camera director, director of electronic capture, videographer, sound engineer, etc. While an SDC Member may be hired to perform additional work, the minimum terms of this Agreement are only applicable to their “staged” work that is being captured for distribution.

The Agreement sets compensation minimums based on length of services and length of streaming of the digital stage production per the payment schedule. Any stage direction or choreography which constitutes intellectual property  and rights of first refusal are protected under the Agreement.

  • The Employer is responsible for pension and health contributions as specified in the Agreement. The electronic Digital Stage Production Contract form has been designed to automatically calculate the appropriate pension and health payments based on the number of days worked. Employers should complete the form electronically and allow the form to calculate the correct payments.
  • Once the contract has been completed, the Employer should email a copy to the Member. Then, after the SDC Member signs, both the Employer and Member should email signed copies to Contracts@SDCweb.org.
  • Pension and health contributions should arrive in separate checks – one made out to “SDC-League Pension Fund” and the other to “SDC-League Health Fund” and mailed to the following address (or for details regarding electronic payment of benefits, contact Health@SDCweb.org): SDC-League Pension & Health Funds, 321 W 44th Street Suite 804 New York, NY 10036-5477
